I guess I'm going to have to change the wording in my orientation. Instead of, "If you see someone not wearing their mask, don't shoot them" to "If you feel someone's face and they are not wearing a mask, don't shoot them."

Wow, i never thought there would be flash backs in paintball, I started playing in 1983 at battlezone in Richmond Ca running around with splat masters and we started a team Urban Survival, myself and my cousin Ray then moved to Dallas/Fort-worth Tx and restarted are team there playing and picking up team players from fun on the run paintball park.are first sponsor for the team was Paintball game supplys out of east rodchester NY from Caleb Strong using Stinger paintballs. lader on are team became very active in the Tcc league in texas and became the top 1st place amature team. I then had PGS caleb strong start the first wholesale distribution in euless tx were me and my wife was employed by PGS. are team in conjuntion with PMI and aftershock played in the last masters in tenn and was told we couldnt play in the finals cause we maxed out all the teams without loosing any players and it wouldnt be fair. are team also played in the reno pro-am in 1993. at this time i was asked to play for team navarone out of san diego ca but traveling was hard for practice. then paintball starting to change as jeff from PMI started purchasing companys like sumo and the PGS we worked for. and speedball started taking over and we disbanded the team in 1995 because we were woods ball team. I also stopped playing due to getting to know the leaders in paintball [ no names ] didnt care about the players only there wallet books. its a shame woods ball went out due to speedball cause i loved the sport and would have kept playing.
Thanks for understanding

I'm getting a little tired of these boring press releases. Does anyone out here in the real world really care what paint a particular team is shooting? Good for the Master Blasters that they got some kind of deal that I assume gives them a break on paintball costs. Good for Valken that they signed up another customer. But why should I, or anyone else care?

As to the "Idiot" remark.. I NEVER.. REPEAT NEVER said that anyone needed to wear bright colors other than me. I did it as an example for new and young players to demonstrate that the sport wasn't full of anti-government Crazies or Soldier of Fortune wantabes. They could point me out to their parents and say "see.. it's a sport.. He has fun with it." So I looked ridiculous (and because of it, become the "clown prince" of the sport.).. but I played an awful lot with very new players (often first timers) and although I could have racked up a triple digit body count and sent them all home crying.. I made it fun for everybody.. including myself. I had field owners all over the country cry for me to come back as the players I had played with returned.. and brought friends, and more friends (ALL BUYING PAINT AND MARKERS). How many times did you have letters in your mailbox asking you to show up at some field, stating that they'd comp your entry fee and provide a free case of paint to sweeten the deal...I'd get at least three a month.

I loved the sport.. still do.. But June 10th 2008, I woke up in the morning and couldn't see (my retina detached).. it took surgery and three years of therapy for me to be able to see again. And many things are not possible for me anymore.. paintball being one of them..

My first paintball event since that day will be at CPX in Joliet, the Legends event in May. I hope to see many of my ole friends there.. A lot of them were pulling for me when I wasn't able to do anything due to my loss of sight.

I grew up with paintball, and played for one of Dans teams. When I heard about what happened I was absolutely devastated when I heard what those people did to him. Dan's a great guy, and I don't know a single person who knows him that would tell you anything otherwise. It's an absolute shame that a person could stoop so low to wrong someone who put so much love into the game. Thanks for spreading the word.

Between the mix of people we have and the kindness of all ; this is by far the most amazing team . I love my CEF family and we always are there for one another ON AND OFF the field . Huzzah !

I played on Navarone from 1984 to 1989 as the right wing point man. Out team captain Andy Green formed a lazy double u with the entire team and we use to sweep the field to eliminate all of the opposing teams players before retrieving the flag for more points. Andy wound motivate us by awarding patches that showed how many kills you totaled. Besides winning many tournaments the best part was the teams spirit and commodity. Not sure why the team feel apart but my reasons for leaving was family. It was a lot of fun to be on a team of that caliber.

Adam, thanks for the ummm, 'heartfelt' response. Were this a different venue I might suggest that your failure to choose one sport over the other is indicative of a mental issue which seems to have some symptoms similar to Tourette's Syndrome - but since this isn't a different venue, I won't suggest those things.

Your statement is all nice and feel-goody, but the fact is that not everything in this world is equal. Whether we want to be tolerant or not, there IS a difference between a ten year old girl who collects fashion Barbies and a 50 year old guy doing the same. I'd completely understand if the Barbie police wanted to keep Mr. Weirdo out of the Barbie convention. He can complain about discrimination all he wants - but there IS a difference between his 'hobby' and that girl's hobby. So excuse me for being partisan, but this is a paintball website and I feel a small obligation to favor the better sport over the 'Barbie' sport....

Or I, on the other hand, can feel sad for you because YOU choose to waste your money in such a fasion, and then tell us how we're wasting our money.

To tell you the truth, we're always going to be arguing about this, we always have, always will. Show me one hobby/interest where there's not an argument. Windows, Mac. Macdonalds, Burger King. M4 variants, AK variants. There's always a disagreement.

I wish we could accept that both sports are completely different, are played by people with 2 completely different mindsets, and one will never cancel out the other. Once we realize this, hopefully paintballers and airsofters will be able to live together in peace.

Hmmm, I play both paintball and airsoft (preferring the first) and even I feel your, simply put, a jacka**. I have friends on both sides who are at a mental level high enough to not be talking down to the other side. Come to think of it, maturity doesn't come with age does it?
