Back In the USSR (Russian Federation)

HOUSTON, TX – Friday, November 1, 2013 – Houston Heat is putting the rumor mill to rest and confirming that Konstantin Fedorov, Mishka Kniazev and Sergei Solnishkov will not be playing with Heat during the 2014 PSP season. The three will be joining their Russian family, Art Chaos, full time next year.

“We’ve had two great years with the original Houston Heat roster,” said Randy “Sarge” Smith, owner of Houston Heat. “We completely understand the decisions of Konstantin, Mishka and Sergei to play full time with Art Chaos in 2014, as it allows them to stay closer to home and set themselves up for success in their lives after paintball. We still very much consider them part of our family, are thankful of the time we spent together and wish them all the best in the next chapter of their journeys.”

“I have made an agreement with Art Chaos to play paintball and work with the owner next year,” said Konstantin Fedorov. “I am excited to practice in Russia with my personal coach and have my personal schedule for a full season. I want to say thank you to everyone on Houston Heat for big two seasons in my life. To be a winner is always great feeling. I would like to say personal thanks to Sarge for giving me this greatest experience in my life, to be part of his family, learn some lessons and pretty much have fun every moment with the team.”

“Playing for Art Chaos next year was “hard to make” decision because I’m looking on my future,” said Sergei Solnishkov. “I was playing on awesome team for two years! And I met wonderful people that become my family. We reach very high results because of our serious way of our altogether working. And that’s all because I was together with awesome people!!! I never saw a team like Houston Heat, when people acting like a family and working like a SWAT making their job!!! That was amazing surprise for me that it’s possible!!!! I really think that HH IS MY FAMILY.“

“Next year I will be playing for the home team, Art Chaos,” said Mishka Kniazev. “I want to thank the Smith family because these two years of my career very best. I will miss the Houston Heat family.”

Houston Heat will compete as a team in PSP in the champions division in 2014. “We have a great core group of players that will continue to step up to make Houston Heat one of the best teams in the world,” said Smith. “I’m extremely proud of our accomplishments this season and I have faith that the team will continue to make me proud next year though their talent and determination. We may be saying goodbye to three members, but we’re still one team, one family, playing to win one point at a time.”

Houston Heat heads to Europe!

HOUSTON, TX – Thursday, January 31, 2013 – Houston Heat, powered by G.I. Sportz Paintball, is heading across the Atlantic Ocean to play in the Champions Paintball League of The Millennium European Paintball Series for the 2013 season.
“We are honored to have the opportunity to play at an international level in the Millennium Series,” said Houston Heat’s owner, Randy “Sarge” Smith. “We have great respect for the talent and level of competition involved in the league and are looking forward to the unique challenges it offers.”
A year ago, Houston Heat announced its entry into the professional division of the Paintball Sports Promotions (PSP) league in the United States. In its inaugural season, the team took home three tournament victories, one second place finish and ended the year as the overall series champions. Entering the Millennium Series to play with some of the best paintballers around the world seemed a natural progression and one that the team’s owner hopes will be invaluable in taking the players’ skills to the next level.
Many of the team’s players are no strangers to the European league. Six of its 10 rostered players in PSP and its coach, Jason Trosen, have played overseas and greatly benefited from the experience.
Houston Heat’s European roster has not yet been finalized. “There’s a lot of great talent out there,” said Smith. “We’re considering a number of options, both at home and abroad, to ensure all our players are a good fit with the Houston Heat family.”
This announcement comes on the heels of the news that the team has re-signed its key sponsors, G.I. Sportz Paintball and DLX Technologies. “We’re thankful for our sponsors, G.I. and DLX, for supporting us with world-class paint, gear and markers,” said Smith. “With their help, the guys get to do something they love – play paintball – and we’re proud to help showcase their brands on a world stage.”
Stay tuned to Houston Heat’s official Facebook page and website for news and roster updates.

Natural Disaster Paintball Style: A Hurricane Turns Into An Avalanche!

St. Louis Avalanche Becomes New England Avalanche

Legendary professional team relocates and creates regional, divisional feeder program!

Boston, Mass – January 18, 2012 – St. Louis Avalanche, one of the most successful and legendary organizations in professional paintball, is making history once again by relocating from St. Louis to New England and organizing as a professional franchise with a complete, robust divisional feeder program. This dynamic move by team Owner & President Frank Connell, one of the most successful players in professional paintball, includes a merger with Dave Archibald’s northeastern divisional team program, Identity, along with other noteable groups and a rechristening of the professional team as New England Avalanche!

The intention of the relocation of Avalanche to the New England region and merger with Identity is to create a true professional organization, incorporating a “farm” system that will welcome and develop players from the divisional ranks and encourage their upward mobility into higher divisions of play while providing those players with the inspiration of being selected to play professionally for New England Avalanche as their skills are honed. Teams within the New England Avalanche program will compete in all National Professional Paintball League (NPPL) seven-man competitions in 2012 and also participate in the NEPL regional series, in addition to other possible national and regional events.

Frank Connell, Owner & Team President, expressed excitement about the move and merger. “It’s time to make Avalanche a household name and what better way to do that than by positioning the organization to have teams in all divisions!”

Dave Archibald, Vice President of Operations & Player Development echoed Connell’s sentiments. “After eight months of hard work, I feel so blessed to finally see my vision become a reality and even more honored to be doing it alongside one of the most passionate personalities of our sport. I feel we have something very positive to bring to New England and Northeast regions of the United States.”
