CW Channel 57 in Philadelphia is reporting that someone in a black Honda Accord of Civic shot into another car, striking a child in the forehead.

The Somers Point NJ Police Department (where the incident took place) have made apprehending the idiots a priority and plan on bringing aggravated assault charges against them.

Check out the original reporting on the CW57 website.  The headline calls it a “wounding”.  The mainstream press is starting to ratchet up their rhetoric and that means one very bad thing for paintball:  they have chosen this wording because they believe it will appeal to their audience – which means they believe their audience will respond to anti-paintball presentations and that does not bode well for the future.

People – paintball has to do more than simply lament this kind of idiocy.  It will not be too much longer before towns, cities and states begin to enact ordinances that will greatly curtail – or even eliminate – your ability to have paintball fun.

Everyone in this industry needs to be VOCAL about wanting to put a stop to this and has to get actively involved in preventing it.  Drop a dime if you know of someone who’s done this kind of thing – they may be your ‘friend’, but they sure as heck aren’t paintball’s friend.
